As a trusted behavioral health organization committed to providing care in the community since 1955, we offer an array of comprehensive services for youth, adolescents, and adults.

Our Crisis Stabilization clinicians provide short-term treatment and therapeutic support services for adults (18+) who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis and DO NOT require inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitors CSP milieu
  • Supports gathering National Outcomes Measurements (NOMS) on all CSP admissions
  • Provides triage, rapid evaluation/assessment, preliminary diagnosis, brief crisis counseling, crisis deescalation/resolution/care plan, coordination with local hospitals, police, fire, medical and behavioral health services, crisis planning, counseling, skill development and emotional support based on individualized treatment goals and discharge plans
  • Provides referral and disposition options appropriate to the client's needs and safety including scheduling outpatient follow up and warm hand offs

Performance Requirements

  • Establishing rapport and maintaining supportive contact with client.
  • Conducting program assessments including IATP and completing the intake process.
  • Assessing and counseling clients in psychiatric crises and activating emergency procedures as appropriate.
  • Providing case management, supportive counseling and rehabilitative services in both group and individual settings, including instruction of clients on ADL and social skills.
  • Assisting in the training and orientation of new staff or interns
  • Knowledge of human development across cultures and across the life cycle as applicable to the clinical population served.
  • Courteous, effective relationships in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of agency policy and adherence to agency procedure.
  • Meets productivity standards of the work unit.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in human service field or 5 years' behavioral health experience including experience providing crisis intervention
  • Experience working with adults with mental health and/or substance use needs
  • Ability to administer CPR
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule if needed
  • Must have a valid Illinois driver's license, auto insurance, automobile, and a willingness to transport clients as necessary

Schedule

  • Monday
  • Friday 4pm 12am (40 hours a week).
