    Outreach is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Full-Time Primary Counselor to work in our Outreach House II substance use disorder program located in Brentwood, Long Island.

    The Primary Counselor is responsible for the delivery and implementation of supervision, support, and clinical services to a population of chemically dependent clients with co-occurring and mental health problems.

    The Primary Counselor serves a member of the program's treatment team.


    • Facilitate various formats (e.g. individuals, groups, specialty groups) on time and in a professional, ethical and caring manner. Manage all aspects of a caseload from date of entry to date of discharge with special attention to appropriate levels of care and appropriate clinical interventions.
    • Provide various clinical or substance abuse services.
    • Conduct intakes and monitor individual, group, and family therapies.
    • Develop service plans and conduct reviews as needed throughout treatment.
    • Provide mental health assessments, counseling, referrals, and intervention services.
    • Complete and maintain documentation according to federal and state guidelines.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
    Qualifications


    • CASAC, CASAC-T, CRC, LMHC, LMSW, LMFT, LCSW or higher preferred.
    • 2-3 years of experience with substance abuse disorders
    • 1-2 years of experience working with adolescents with co-occurring and mental health problems
    • 1-2 years of experience working in in an OASAS funded facility a plus
    • Commitment to providing quality services and outcome driven performance measures.
    • Excellent organizational management skills with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance clinicians, set and achieve program objectives.
    • Strong networking and public relations skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, populations, and cultures.
    • Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning.
    • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
