Responsibilities:
Design and analysis of fluid and gas systems in the waste treatment process facilities.
Preparation of technical reports, design documentation, and specifications for complex mechanical systems and equipment.
Development of piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID) and equipment data sheets integrating design and nuclear safety standards.
Collaborative interface with various engineering disciplines and clients to refine system designs.
System and equipment specification based on safety, process, and other operational requirements.
Coordination within engineering teams to develop detailed designs and resolve technical issues.
Supporting safety analyses and hazard evaluations.
Serving as a key communication link with external partners, including vendors and subcontractors.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years related experience.
Eligibility to obtain a Department of Energy badge for site access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or PE License in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering.
Experience adhering to quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
Previous work with government agencies, preferably in the DOE or DOD sectors.
