Position Summary


The Intake Specialist is part of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) NextGen program and works with young adults ages This position plays an integral role on the team.

This staff person handles the necessary tracking of for all referrals and enrollments allowing other staff to concentrate on providing the best services possible to customers.

This is an exempt, temporary-part-time position and expected to work 25 hours per week.


Essential Job Functions

  • Identify and recruit eligible and suitable program participants.
  • Review all referrals received and process for enrollment into the NextGen program.
  • Track participants through the intake process.
  • Attend recruiting events to generate referrals for the program.
  • Utilize WIT reports to generate leads that leads to referrals into the program.
  • Record applicant data in Work In Texas within the established standards.
  • Facilitate Informational Sessions.
  • Conduct recruitment (outreach) of customers through use of the MIS by sending letters and correspondence to customers as required and meeting the designated timelines.
  • Enter information regarding a customer's attendance at orientations and/or customer response to recruitment
  • Open to work weekend and evenings on occasion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Training

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's preferred
  • 1 year of related experience.
  • Intermediate to

Advanced Microsoft Office:
Excel, PowerPoint and Word, able to learn new software.


Experience and Qualifications

  • At least one year in workforce development (preferably).
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly detail oriented and performance driven to successfully meet program requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortable presenting at workshops.
  • Must be able to attend public events and outdoor venues in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Flexible and collaborative in teams, with employers, customers, and other staff.
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Word processing skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to maintain quality control over work assignments.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations pertaining to the administered programs.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, preferably.
  • Resultsoriented, selfmotivated, and selfdirected. Takes initiative.

Compensation
- $20/hr.
