Reporting to the Manager for Field Operation, the Volunteer Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing volunteers to support Global Refuge programming in Baltimore.

This position will work alongside the Global Refuge mobilization staff to develop, inspire, and coordinate volunteers_._

DUTIES

  • Through outreach activities and public speaking engagements highlight the work of Global Refuge and recruit volunteers.
  • Works collaboratively with the Global Refuge mobilization team.
  • Under mínimal supervision, develops, inspires, and coordinates volunteers to support Global Refuge's local operation in Baltimore.
  • Supports the recruitment and vetting of volunteers.
  • Conducts orientation for new volunteers, educates them on relevant cultural practices, and prepares them for specific duties.
  • Develop assignments appropriate to volunteers' interests, coordinate schedules for such assignments, and place volunteers in roles most appropriately suited to their needs, availability, and abilities.
  • Manages the daytoday office activities as they relate to Volunteer Services including maintaining the front desk, managing personnel and clerical volunteer staff, ordering supplies, scheduling appointments, handling telephone inquiries and walkins, and performing bookkeeping functions, including coordination of timekeeping activity.
  • Manages, builds, and maintains relationships with individual volunteers and volunteer groups.
  • Advise the Case Management team of any issues arising from volunteer and client interactions and or volunteer service delivery.
  • Monitors volunteer performance, develops and coordinates volunteer work schedules, and assists in establishing standards of performance and productivity.
  • Implements standard operating procedures, reviews, and improvements to enhance volunteer services and activities.
  • Supports inventory of inkind items.
  • Monitors volunteers' satisfaction, and productivity and provides recognition as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in coordinating volunteer programs or similar roles is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of refugee resettlement, or other relevant crosscultural experiences are a plus.
  • Ability to maintain a pleasant, customercentered demeanor and professional image in a variety of challenging situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and change direction quickly.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including keen listening ability, relationshipbuilding, and community outreach.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently, with a high level of selfmotivation.
  • Desire to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • A high degree of cultural humility and emotional intelligence.
