Job Description:
Summary:

The Distribution Center Shipping Clerk prepares customer orders for shipping according to customer specifications and ensures product meets company quality standards.

Requirements

Field questions and resolve General Shipping issues.

Shipping daily orders within internal system.

Move products and incoming materials to proper location using a hand truck, carts.

Determine proper packing requirements to ensure the safe handling of products that meet customer specifications.

Package material according to established procedures.

Stage packages for pick up by various carriers.

Coordinate shipments with freight and parcel carriers.

Coordinate Federal Express and UPS shipments.

Organize and maintain supplies for the department, re-ordering as needed.

Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Minimum Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience Required:
One year of shipping experience, Driver's License

Lead Responsibility:
This position has no lead responsibilities.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
