    Job Title: Vulnerability and Exploitation Engineer

    Department: Operations - Services

    Reports To: RSekure Program Manager

    Location: On-site in Chantilly, VA

    Schedule: Monday - Friday

    Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

    Pay Type: Salaried, Contract

    Clearance Req: TS/SCI - Full-Scope Polygraph

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Position Summary

    RSekure is seeking highly qualified V&E Engineer with expert-level experience in the Chantilly, VA area to work with our customer's nontraditional cyber unit. An ideal candidate will need real world development and exploitation experience, and must have a desire to learn new technologies and tradecraft. This highly technical position leverages unique cyber accesses which require deep technical understanding and skill in exploitation techniques and tactics. This position is responsible for development and application of products using C/C++ and Python, with a focus on identifying and manipulating vulnerabilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Development using C/C++ and Python.
    • Conduct full exploitation and leveraging of access within multiple environments.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest vulnerability information sources, including alerts, advisories, and bulletins.
    • Apply security testing and penetration testing techniques and mindset to a wide range of projects.
    • Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences.
    • Create Rules of Engagement (ROE), test plans, and scripts to aid in testing efforts.
    • Travel may be required (5%-10%).

    Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise development using C/C++ and Python.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in developing CVEs and exploits.
    • Proficiency in reviewing code and technical papers.
    • Experience in debugging and/or reverse engineering cyber exploits.
    • Previous participation in Capture the Flag (CTF) or similar hacking challenges.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Exceptional organization skills with capacity to support and prioritize multiple efforts under short deadlines.
    • Interest in AI/ML models as applicable to vulnerability discovery, research, and exploitation.

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related positions.

    Desired Certifications and Licenses

    • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN), CompTIA PenTest+, or other similar qualifications are highly desired.
    • Other relevant cyber certifications (CompTIA Sec+, Net+, etc.) are a bonus.

    Special Requirements

    • TS/SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph.

    Work Environment

    Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

    Physical Demands

    To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
