    Description

    The IT Specialist will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the security of information systems by identifying and addressing potential and actual security issues. The candidate will help support and troubleshoot current network setups, hardware configurations, and implement new systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Identifying vulnerabilities in applications and systems that could be exploited by cyber attackers.
    • Performing vulnerability assessments for networks, applications, and operating systems.
    • Effectively managing time, meeting deadlines, and striving for successful project outcomes.
    • Conducting regular network security audits and scans.
    • Overseeing and maintaining the company's security protocols to ensure alignment with industry standards.
    • Actively collaborating with the team in project meetings and working efficiently to meet project timelines.
    • Providing support and resolving issues in Windows and Linux environments promptly.

    Required Skill Set:

    • 3 or more years of experience working with Tenable, Rapid7, or similar technologies in secure environments following RMF processes.
    • Hands-on experience with Rapid7 and Tenable in the RMF Framework.
    • Thorough understanding of security protocols and their implementation in diverse environments.
    • Proficient in the management and security of both Windows and Linux systems.
    • Preferably transitioning from a helpdesk or network admin role to a security-oriented position.
    • Solid grasp of Windows and UNIX/Linux OS.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Advanced ability in self-management and teamwork.
    • Active Security Clearance is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certifications: CompTIA A+ CE, Cisco CCNA-Security, CompTIA Network+ CE, (ISC)2 SSCP.
    • BS or Associates degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
