Responsibilities:

Create high precision optics using glass fabrication machinery. Experienced with set up, operation and making program changes of CNC equipment. Fabricate, grind and/or polish precision optics using a variety of equipment. Must be able to verify accuracy of finished product, as well as support process and product development. Focused on fabricating high quality products and quickly meeting customer's needs.


Qualifications:

  • Skilled running glass or ceramic machining equipment
  • Skilled with optical metrology equipment
  • Inspecting parts using auto autocollimators and interferometers
  • Skilled to visually inspect parts for defects
  • Able to run glass fabrication machinery
  • Optics handling skills to prevent scratches and defects
  • Able to work standing in machine tool environment
  • Willingness to work in multiple areas of concentration ranging from CNC machine operation to delicate hand polishing.
  • Knowledgeable regarding at least 2 of the following operations/machines:
  • Optics Protection
  • Scratch-Dig Surface Inspection
  • Hand Figure Correction
  • Beveling
  • Edge Polishing
  • Metrology
  • Flat Blocking
  • Deterministic Polishing
  • Spindle Grinding and Polishing
  • Optical CNCs
  • Master Cam Software
  • Vericut Software
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an optical fabrication production
  • Experience working on new product introduction programs
  • Excellent teamwork is a must.
  • Very good hand to eye coordination
  • Demonstrate understanding of basic optics technology
  • Can read and follow written and verbal work instructions and communicate effectively in a team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills including use of basic math and geometry.
  • Adequate visual acuity to preform visual inspection of optical surfaces i.e. color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Computer skills for basic MS Office software required, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Pay Range:
USD $70, USD $117,890.00 Year

Note:
For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
