***:This BQM position reports to the VP of FSQA and is the Food Safety and Quality (FSQA) interface responsible for business quality program execution in the field. Position works with JJSF facilities, connecting facility Operations, Quality and Corporate FSQA, regulatory, supply chain, marketing, sales, R&D, and customers.


Key areas of responsibility include field implementation of Corporate FSQA Standards; quality, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) improvement projects; providing technical leadership for Root Cause Analysis for food safety and quality issues and interfacing with key customer accounts.

The individual will identify and work with the facilities to address food safety and quality risks/gaps and facilitate opportunities for new programs, processes, and systems.

The position will support new product commercialization, feasibility discussions and the development and implementation of product specifications and monitoring processes to ensure compliance.


This person plays a critical role in assisting with customer engagement as necessary and the development of customer facing communications, and documentation for food safety/quality plans and risk assessments, audit preparation, specification review and compliance, defect standards and training to ensure high level food safety and quality.

The individual will influence management on the alignment of FSQA strategies, annual objectives, and CI or plant project plans.

The individual will direct and assist with deploying food safety and quality assurance programs across plants, functional areas, and influence plant leadership with FSQA best practices.

Position reports to Corporate HQ, Mount Laurel, NJ with the ability to work remotely from a JJSF plant location.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive field implementation of initiatives focused on product standards, quality, continuous process improvements, and complaint reduction.
  • Provide technical leadership for facility (RCA) investigations and communication to key stakeholders on overall quality performance, issue resolution, and KPIs.
  • Facilitate customer engagement as necessary in support of issues and inquiry resolution; draft customer facing communications regarding quality or food safety investigations.
  • Strong partnership with customers, Sales, R&D, Marketing, and Operations on food safety, quality improvements and product communications.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of consumer complaint and foreign material reduction initiatives/programs and comprehensive plans to improve consumer satisfaction.
  • Influence management to ensure alignment of FSQA strategies and annual objectives.
  • Facilitate and drive key FSQA programs, internal/external audit requirements/preparation, ensure adherence to Corporate FSQA Standards, and lead assigned FSQA strategic initiatives.
  • Provide insight and support in the development, implementation, and ongoing tracking of appropriate FSQA performance KPIs.
  • Provide direction and support to plant FSQA and crossfunctional project teams.

COMPETENCIES:


  • Ability/skills to objectively lead, collaborate with crossfunctional teams, collect data, assess situations, separate facts from sound bites, make sound, riskbased decisions balancing stakeholder needs and protecting brand equity.
  • Responsible for new or changes in Corporate Standards on specifications, procedures, quality, and supply plans.
  • Troubleshooting facility FSQA issues through RCAs for food safety and quality nonconformance assessments (e.g., risks related to allergens, foreign material, and microbiological).
  • Utilize data to drive continuous improvements in: Food Safety & Quality Plan development and implementation, food safety & quality monitoring including weight control.
  • Proficiency in FSQA & Regulatory Standards and executing against those requirements.
  • Strong knowledge and business acumen to support and influence Marketing, R&D and Operations.
  • Knowledgeable in Statistical Process Control programs, Design of Experiment and Process capability studies.
