    Description

    Duties * Provide casualty assistance support, to include casualty operations, mortuary operations, military funeral honors, mass casualty support and line of duty programs.

    * Supervises an operation involving civilian employees who engage in professional, technical, and administrative work.

    * Serve in an extremely sensitive and high visibility position directly involved in all casualty incidents, notification of death, casualty assistance, mortuary services and burial honors.

    * Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets priorities, and establishes schedules for work completion.

    Specialized Experience:
    One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Working in casualty affairs, mortuary affairs or similar fields performing such duties as casualty reporting notifications and investigation; 2) Providing Casualty Affairs related training to staff and internal & external organizations; AND 3;) Leading and managing personnel.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

    Grade Requirement:

    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

    Education Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

    Additional information * Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
