The Embassy of Bahrain is seeking a Research Analyst that will support the department's need for research and reports on relevant international and local issues.

In this job, you will grow your research skills in a variety of topics related to the Middle East, national security, and law enforcement.

You will learn how to write quickly and accurately, and you will sharpen your time management and communication skills. You will contribute to a variety of impactful and timely work in the field of international relations.


Responsibilities

  • Complete research tasks as assigned, such as conducting literature reviews and background research; finding, organizing, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data; and preparing memos, briefs, reports, and presentations.
  • Develop and prepare indepth analyses of policy and security issues at the national, regional, and global levels.
  • Propose policy questions, identify relevant research areas, and develop recommendations for reports and actions.
  • Identify and analyze key trends, policies, and strategies.
  • Produce timely analysis of current issues of the day.
  • Edit and factcheck reports and update existing materials as needed.
  • Complete other administrative duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
  • Fluent in English with writing, speaking, and reading skills.
  • Prior work experience that demonstrates an understanding of U.S. government, policies, and Middle East relations preferred
  • Familiarity with government organizations, think tanks, and nonprofit organizations, as well as various American government and academic entities
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and data synthesis skills, especially in using Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites and familiarity with analytical tools
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Effective team player and proactive problemsolver
  • Strict attention to deadlines and details
  • High level of responsibility, accountability, and confidentiality
  • Willingness to take on additional duties as necessary
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S.
