With over 100 years of industry experience, we specialize in e-commerce postal sorting automation, cross-border international mail, and USPS domestic mail bar coding and sorting.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Field Service Technician at ID Mail Systems, Inc. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing day-to-day maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and installations of mail and parcel processing equipment at customer locations in the Greater Chicago Area. Some travel to other customer locations is occasionally required, but the role is primarily located in the Greater Chicago Area.

Qualifications

Experience in servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing mail and parcel processing equipment.
Knowledge of automation systems, conveyor systems, barcode scanners, optical character recognition (OCR) technology, printers, print and apply labeling systems and sorting machines.
Proficiency in reading technical schematics and diagrams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to travel to customer sites as needed.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks.
Associate's degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
Relevant skills and qualifications that would be beneficial for the role include knowledge of material handling equipment, postal regulations and compliance, experience with Microsoft Windows OS and 365 applications and troubleshooting, and familiarity with electronic and mechanical systems.
