Starting on September 1st, 2024, we are looking for you to join our 3-year apprenticeship program as a locomotive shunter (railway employee in the operations department, specializing in train driving and transportation) (m/f/d) for DB Cargo AG at our location in Seelze. The vocational school is located in Burgdorf.
What to expect during your apprenticeship:
  • You will drive a diesel locomotive to nearby customers, such as different companies, and pick up the goods to be transported
  • You will shunt freight cars onto the appropriate tracks
  • You will assemble trains by coupling and uncoupling individual cars
  • You will learn the rules for safe railway operations and become familiar with your vehicle inside and out
  • Checking the functionality of freight trains and securing the loads are also part of your responsibilities
  • You will start and end your workday at your regional shunting yard
