  • Chantilly High School

Description

  • Performs a variety of duties required to maintain a safe and secure environment in a school, an alternative learning center, or for adult and community education programs held during or after school, in the evening and/or on weekends; enforces regulations establishing a tobacco, alcohol, weapons, and drugfree school setting; may monitor students in a selfcontained setting.

Qualifications

Required:


  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate, supplemented by specialized safety or security environment training.
  • Two (2) years of progressively more responsible school or security experience.
  • Must successfully complete compulsory certification training approved by the Virginia Center for School Safety within sixty (60) days of hire and renew certification annually.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment.
  • Required to work during
- and after
- school, evening, and/or weekend activities on an assigned flexible schedule.

  • Knowledge of local, county, and state regulations requiring an alcohol, drug, weapons, and tobaccofree environment.
  • Skill in record keeping.
  • Ability to control students and maintain a healthy school environment.
  • Ability to monitor students and maintain appropriate taskoriented behavior.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between students and teachers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Salary Range
- $32,403 - $54,697
