Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Advanced Nurse Practice (APN) position is to be a skilled health provider who through a written collaborative practice agreement with a physician and credentialed through the Medical Staff Office, utilizes critical judgment in the performance of comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis and the prescribing of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease.
APN practice promotes wellness through conducting research, providing education, and impacting public policy and works autonomously as well as in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants.
The APN is self-directed and purposeful in seeking necessary knowledge and skills to develop and maintain competency.The APN:
Qualifications
A current Registered/Professional Nurse license and registration in the State of New Jersey is required.
Completion of an educational program which is designed and conducted to prepare graduates to practice as an NP/APN with a master's degree in nursing and eligible for certification by a national certifying body.
Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving are essential.A minimum of two (2) years' experience of clinical nursing experience and current BLS certification are required; knowledge and experience in obstetrics and gynecology strongly preferred.
Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations preferred.Credential Required:
Current NJ License and Registration; Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse, by the Board of Nursing, with specialization as indicated; BLS Certification
