Westover School is seeking applicants for a full-time, 10-month position of Athletics Coordinator & Dorm Faculty member to begin in August 2024.


The Athletics Coordinator & Dorm Faculty member is responsible for supporting the student experience in both Athletics and Residential Life.

This position will work closely with the Director of Athletics and the Director of Community Life and Culture.


Dorm Faculty are on duty as follows: four after school overnight shifts a week plus a rotating weekend schedule equating to about two weekends in a five weekend rotation.

They are also required to attend monthly Community Dinners, a weekly team meeting, and at times attend meetings during the academic day.

Share excitement for living in the dormitory and enthusiasm for helping adolescents develop healthy decision making and social emotional skills.

Understand the importance of student accountability and uphold school policies as detailed in the Student and Family Handbook.

Find joy in helping young people navigate being a part of the living and learning community.


Responsibilities:

Remain visible and available to students when on duty.

Host weekly corridor meetings & facilitate Dorm Community Programs, including all-boarding student meetings and dorm-wide social events.

Implement Residential Life Curriculum to support students in development of life skills, growth, and navigating community living.


Hold students to all existing corridor and school policies, including navigating Student and Family Handbook violations and roommate or dorm-specific interpersonal conflicts.

Communicate with parenting adults when necessary.

Participate and/or facilitate activities in alignment with the Westover Institute program.

Carry out interventions for individual students as dictated by the Confident and Connected team.

Support student leadership initiatives and cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders to enrich student life experiences.

Complete routine check-ins and "goodnights" for each boarding resident.

Serve as the Lead Dorm Faculty one night per week and during weekend duty time.

Work closely with the Athletic Department team to support coaches, teams, and student athletes.

Confirm athletic contests with opponents and officials.

Oversee the physical fitness component of our afternoon activities program.

Create and update content for our internal and external websites.

Prepare for Game days.

Liaison between the Athletic Department and the Health Center.

Coach an athletic team for one season.

Oversee outreach programming for Middle School athletes through the Westover Institute.

Other responsibilities as determined by the Director of Athletics.
