The Financial Operations division within Business & Financial Services (BFS) plays a crucial role in managing bank accounts and overseeing the payment card program.

This program enables departments to accept credit and debit cards for goods and services while ensuring compliance with industry standards and privacy laws.

As a campus control point, the Financial Reconciliation Accountant monitors UCSD bank accounts, handles incoming electronic deposits (Wires/ACHs), and collaborates with central administrative offices and campus departments.

We are looking for someone with experience with reconciling multiple bank accounts, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining oversight of university-wide banking portals.

Additionally, the role supports ACH/Wires return requests, cash journal entries, and complex financial transactions with other UC campuses, including UC Office of the President (UCOP).


The Financial Reconciliate Accountant interprets and applies accounting policies, keeps standard operating procedures up-to-date, and serves as a resource for procedural issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Thorough knowledge of accounting function and assignments. Demonstrated indepth knowledge of accounting principles theory and practice. Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and GASB pronouncements, as well as reporting standards related to internal controls.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial transactions and systems, as well as related policy, accounting, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing.
  • Thorough knowledge of analytical procedures used in accounting projects of moderate to semicomplex scope. Ability to perform highly complex financial analysis and customized reporting and establish auto banking rules. Demonstrated expert level analytical skills, ability to comprehend and reconcile financial data, and perform mathematical computations with accuracy.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and flexibility to promote positive working relationships and job effectiveness. Strong problem solving, conflict resolution and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment and maintain confidentiality.

Annual Full Pay Range:

$67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent:

$ $57.28
