Job Summary

- Oversee the entire BI engineering function and define strategies
- Manage large migrations and stay updated on cutting-edge technologies
- Provide leadership to set best practices and standards for Business Intelligence Engineering

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

- Lead the BI and data engineering team to achieve BI COE and business functions goals
- Manage complex data preparation projects and ensure smooth data transition
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across departments
- Set the Fabric Semantic Layer strategy
- Define and oversee the overall Business Intelligence, data engineering, and architecture strategy for the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence
- Identify and implement new data technologies to optimize data pipelines
- Stay ahead of emerging data trends and technologies

Solutions necessitate analysis and investigation
Achieve planned results through decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience
Manage a group of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervise support staff

Work Environment

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about. Occasionally may need to move or lift light articles
Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time

Education and Experience

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline with 7+ years of experience
May require certification. An advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

This is a REMOTE position
5+ years of experience in data engineering - REQUIRED
Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale data projects - REQUIRED
Deep expertise in Azure data services including Microsoft Fabric and big data technologies - REQUIRED
Strong leadership and mentoring skills - REQUIRED
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills - REQUIRED
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer certification (highly preferred). May possess additional certifications relevant to specific cloud technologies
