Position Summary:

This position reports to the Project Manager.

The Low Voltage Technician must be able to work independently and as part of an electrical team of electricians, engineers, and other technical staff while maintaining a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality production.

Some travel will be required.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Performs cabling installations, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cabling systems
  • Installs, removes, rearranges, programs, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains fiber network services.
  • Installs and configures routers, set top boxes. Interacts with the Fiber Solution Center as needed. May install appropriate inside wire/cable (such as Cat 5E, Coaxial cable.)
  • Installs, maintains and repairs outside and inside fiber equipment/facilities including inside wiring and fiber jumpers at the distribution hub. Activates the ONT
  • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuitbreaker panels, etc.
  • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
  • Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments
  • Perform testing of switchgear and power control devices.
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Follow all required safety protocols, e.g., LOTO procedures, while performing electrical work at various commercial and industrial sites incorporating and adhering to all safety standards.
  • Repairs and calibrates precision electronic test equipment and system.
  • Installs, aligns and repairs teletype printers and microwave systems, control and data acquisition systems, and public address equipment.
  • Uses hand tools, transmission level and frequency meters, return loss measuring equipment, programmable data transmission test equipment, pulse generators, analyzers, dual trace oscilloscopes, selective voltmeters, printed circuit card testers, tube and transistor testers, signal tracers, signal generators, telephone test boards and sets, test lamps, and other electronic test equipment to locate and repair trouble in equipment and circuits.
  • Determines the presence of opens, shorts, grounds, crosses, and other faults in circuits or systems.
  • Replaces transistors, solid state components, integrated circuits, relays, shunts, coils, transformers, switches, fuses, and other electronic, electrical, and mechanical parts in systems, equipment, and circuits.
  • Tests logic and timing circuits.
  • Maintains teletype and telemetering equipment.
  • Conducts data error counts and analyze wave patterns.
  • Adjusts data modems and line conditioning equipment.
  • Understand and work from communications plans, schematic diagrams, and other sketches and drawings, and oral and written instructions.

Qualifications:


  • Valid driver's license with clean DMV record.
  • 5+ years' experience with an industrial controls background preferred.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Experience working at food and beverage processing and minerals and mining industries, preferred.
  • Experience with conduit bending.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  • Must pass required preemployment examinations.
  • Ability to perform physical exertions including medium to heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, stair or ladder climbing, and other construction/maintenance activities for 8 to 12hour shifts.

Pay:
$ $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
