COCC is looking for an Events Coordinator to join our Digital Communications team.

Where you'll work:
Your home base will be Southington, CT, and you will also work in Avon and Rocky Hill as needed for events, along with up to two remote days per week.
What you'll do:
- Organize tasks and lead logistics planning meetings for COCC employee events such as holiday events, summer celebration, specialty food days, virtual employee activities, DEIB activities, and more while working closely with many different teams and individuals throughout the company
- Provide support to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in the areas of event planning and community engagement
- Plan and coordinate community engagement and volunteer days for employees
- Support team projects and tasks; may provide backup support for reviewing communications and presentations, graphics, articles, etc.
- Monitor and accurately complete requests submitted through internal request systems in accordance with request timelines, due dates, and procedures
What you'll bring:
- A passion for planning and coordinating events; 13 years of events planning experience desired
- Bachelor's degree in events management, organizational behavior, communications, human resources, business administration prefered, but will consider appropriate work experience and/or certifications
- Enthusiasm for and some knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives and topics
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects and timesensitive tasks
- Strong writing skills, grammar/spelling, and editing/proofreading ability
- Experience with graphic design a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
