Position Summary:


This position is responsible for providing Economic Support Program Services (ES) that include Medical Assistance, BadgerCare Plus, Food Share (SNAP), Child Care, and Caretaker Supplement as part of the Moraine Lakes Consortium.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned._
  • As an agent of the Moraine Lakes Call Center this position will:
  • Provide quality customer service by answering applicant/participant questions and explain program and eligibility requirements.
  • Conduct intake and review interviews with consumer applicants/participants to collect information necessary to process cases for Medical Assistance, BadgerCare Plus, Food Share, Child Care, and other economic support services either in person or by phone.
  • Inform consumer applicants/participants of their rights and responsibilities including the need to report changes within proper guidelines. Distribute designated forms and publications as required by the State.
  • Complete ongoing casework including document processing and alert management within specific time frames.
  • Enter consumer data into CARES and other state and local computer systems.
  • Maintain written documentation in electronic case files and computer systems as required by program guidelines.
  • Follow agency procedures regarding error prone profile, front end verification and fraud investigation.
  • Refer consumers to other available resources such as social workers, homeless prevention project, food pantries, community health nurses and mental health, etc.
  • Participate in internal meetings, training workshops and seminars as required or mandated by the state.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

  • High School plus two additional years of formal preparation and two to three years of relevant experience. Proven experience in ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

  • Provides specialized information and/or recommendations to others regarding an area of expertise.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proof of minimum liability auto insurance coverage.

  • This position has authority to make decisions that are within general procedures and protocols; supervision is available as required or requested. These decisions directly impact performance in the job and/or work unit within the department and information is provided with additional research and observations which contributes to the decision making process.
