Position Description:
The United States Marine Corps' College of Enlisted Military Education (CEME) provides a continuum of education to improve leadership, sharpen critical and creative thinking skills, and deepen Marines' understanding of warfighting concepts in distributed and joint environments.
This specialist in gaming and virtual simulation will provide a substantial degree of continuity across all CEME's six Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academies (SNCOAs - located at Quantico, Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendleton, 29 Palms, Hawaii, & Okinawa) by helping to institutionalize wargaming as an educational vehicle.
This includes the use of MCU bespoke wargames (e.g., Littoral Commander, or the CEME specific games that have been recently produced).
We will assist the SNCOAs with teaching the faculty how to use these and other games to maximize decision making while linking them to the curriculum to each particular course.
We can also assist with digitizing existing games using platforms such as VASSAL and BGE, to create more opportunities for wargaming use either closed-loop or beyond the classroom or competition between schools or even academies.
We will assist the dean and assistant dean to support CEME faculty development as well as provide on-site support at each SNCOA.
As directed by the dean, this consultant will represent CEME at the Marine Corps University's Wargame working group and collaborate with the Director of Wargaming and the Krulak Center.
