Description
The certified counselor provides support and builds relationship with patients who have a chemical dependency diagnosis to ensure a successful transition from home or hospital setting to the Chemical Dependency unit.
Support includes brief assessment of status of chemical dependency issue, assessment of readiness for change, identification of coverage for services, referral to appropriate services and follow-up to ensure services are received.

Coursework/Training - Completion of CADC or CATC program in good standing.
California Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor - California Association of DUI Treatment upon hire.
2 years - Work experience in an addiction treatment acute/non-acute setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree - Human Services, Social Worker, or related field.
2 years - Worked as an addiction counselor/clinician at a prior 12 step recovery program.
