We provide services to children and adults who have a primary diagnosis of autism (or other related intellectual or developmental disabilities) utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

We provide both comprehensive and focused behavioral services to our clients in the natural environment at home, school, day and vocational programs, group homes and community living arrangements, and at our center.

Summary of Duties


Reporting to the Clinical Program Supervisor and under the close, ongoing supervision of the assigned Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), the Behavior Technician (BT) provides direct behavior analytic services to clients of ABA of Wisconsin.

The BT is primarily responsible for the consistent implementation of behavior analytic services as defined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) BT Task List (including but not limited to Measurement, Assessment, Skill Acquisition, Behavior Reduction, Documentation and Reporting, and Professional Conduct and Scope of Practice) and interventions outlined by the BCBA in client treatment plans.

In support of ABA of Wisconsin's mission and vision, the BT works closely with the BCBA and other staff to provide the highest quality client services attainable by the organization using obtainable resources.

The BT is required to maintain strict confidentiality of company business records, client information, and other sensitive information.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Behavior Analytic Services_

  • Directly implements skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans written by a supervising BCBA.
  • Under the direction of a supervising BCBA, assists with client assessments that have been designed by a supervising BCBA.
  • Meets regularly with the supervising BCBA to address any program changes, complete further training and for ongoing supervision and consultation.
  • Adjusts interventions and/or intervention methods as instructed by the supervising BCBA when necessary.
  • Is responsible for maintaining thorough knowledge and understanding of each intervention in place for each client on his/her caseload at all times.
  • Regularly reviews treatment plans for each client to ensure familiarity with service needs, interventions, and goals.

Data Collection, Documentation, and Communication_

  • Collects accurate and timely data for all behavior programs using Central Reach or other data collection tools; provides data to the BCBA for analysis.
  • Generates objective session notes for every session detailing client response to intervention and other relevant events that occurred.
  • Communicates with supervising BCBAs on a regular basis (includes but not limited to treatment concerns, critical incidents, scheduling issues, variables affecting client progress, etc.).
  • Provides a summary of session results to parents/guardians and/or client at the end of each client session.

Other Duties_

  • Works collaboratively with other company staff. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other staff as needed for effective operations.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills/Abilities_

18 years of age.
High School diploma or national equivalent. Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or
relevant field of study preferred.
1-2 years of experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities
in the field of Behavior Analysis preferred.
Ability to complete the RBT 40-hour training program and pass the RBT Competency Assessment according to BACB guidelines within 90 days of hire (training provided by ABA of Wisconsin)

Ability to take positive and constructive feedback on performance of duties in a way that is productive for ABA of Wisconsin, the agency, and the client(s).
