46 (Atascocita) is located 25 miles northeast of Downtown Houston and is bordered by the San Jacinto River, to the North; Lake Houston, to the East; The City of Humble, to the West and unincorporated Harris County, to the South.

The district is a typical bedroom community of 86,000 residents.

Close to shopping and entertainment, it is far enough from Houston to feel like a small town, but close enough to provide easy access to all the city has to offer.

As needed basis and required to work a minimum of 48 hours a month after the initial New Hire Orientation.

• Hourly rate of $20.73/hr. Once you are driver qualified on the pumpers, an additional $0.25/hour

The Firefighter will work with the department officers in regards to the following functions:

• Fire Suppression
• Rescue Response
• Hazardous Materials Response
• Station Duties
• Apparatus Checks
• Equipment Inspections
• Occupancy Preplans
• Public Relations
• Training
• Must maintain proficiency and remain current with ever changing fire ground strategies and tactics
• Must be 18 yrs. of age at the time of job offer
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Tx DSHS EMT or higher
• TCFP Firefighter basic or higher
• NIMS 100, 200,700 and 800
• Valid Texas
  Class B Driver's License
• Able to pass an OSHA 29CFR Respiratory Protection Fit Test
• Able to pass a preemployment background check
• Customer service driven attitude
• Effective communication skills
• Must possess basic math comprehension
• Type 2540 wpm
• Good organizational skills
• The National Firefighter Selection Test Study Guide, 2012 edition.

Lunch on your own and written test scored: 11am -12pm

PAT Test for those who pass the Written test with a 70% or higher: 12pm until complete
