About this position

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting regular safety inspections of all site locations to identify risks;
  • Developing and implementing a written health and safety training program;
  • Developing, directing, and implementing environmental, health, and safety programs to assure management takes actions needed to raise employee awareness of these matters;
  • Investigating major accidents or problem areas and recommending future preventive measures;
  • Overseeing Workers' Compensation program, including executing proper injury reporting protocol, as well as effective root cause investigations;
  • Developing risk control and management strategies to reduce any potential risks in the organization;
  • Developing risk contingency plans for future risk management issues;
  • Establishing relationships with state and federal regulatory agencies;
  • Working with broker and insurance carrier representatives on all safety and loss control initiatives;
  • Staying current on emerging trends and developments in risk management;
  • Assisting with the management of all lines of business insurance;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, or a related field;
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in designing, developing, and implementing safety management systems;
  • Minimum of three years of experience developing safety training programs;
  • Minimum of three years of experience in risk management for Workers' Compensation;
  • Minimum of three years of experience in all business insurance policies, including EPLI, D&O, vehicle, property, etc.;
  • Experience in conducting Cal/OSHA health and safety audits;
  • Working knowledge of risk management policies, processes, and methodologies;
  • Ability to manage and evaluate safety metrics to determine measures of success and improvements to the organization's safety culture.

Job specifications

  • Reports to the director of human resources;
  • Fulltime, 12month work year;
  • Eighthour workday;
  • Alternating Fridays off (every Friday off beginning July 2024);
  • Hybridwork schedule;
  • Limited evening or weekend hours may be required;
  • Employment, responsibilities, compensation, and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization's contracts, or at organization's discretion.

Salary
- $100,000 to $128,000 per year
