About this position
What you'll be doing
- Conducting regular safety inspections of all site locations to identify risks;
- Developing and implementing a written health and safety training program;
- Developing, directing, and implementing environmental, health, and safety programs to assure management takes actions needed to raise employee awareness of these matters;
- Investigating major accidents or problem areas and recommending future preventive measures;
- Overseeing Workers' Compensation program, including executing proper injury reporting protocol, as well as effective root cause investigations;
- Developing risk control and management strategies to reduce any potential risks in the organization;
- Developing risk contingency plans for future risk management issues;
- Establishing relationships with state and federal regulatory agencies;
- Working with broker and insurance carrier representatives on all safety and loss control initiatives;
- Staying current on emerging trends and developments in risk management;
- Assisting with the management of all lines of business insurance;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, or a related field;
- Minimum of five years of work experience in designing, developing, and implementing safety management systems;
- Minimum of three years of experience developing safety training programs;
- Minimum of three years of experience in risk management for Workers' Compensation;
- Minimum of three years of experience in all business insurance policies, including EPLI, D&O, vehicle, property, etc.;
- Experience in conducting Cal/OSHA health and safety audits;
- Working knowledge of risk management policies, processes, and methodologies;
- Ability to manage and evaluate safety metrics to determine measures of success and improvements to the organization's safety culture.

Job specifications
- Reports to the director of human resources;
- Fulltime, 12month work year;
- Eighthour workday;
- Alternating Fridays off (every Friday off beginning July 2024);
- Hybridwork schedule;
- Limited evening or weekend hours may be required;
- Employment, responsibilities, compensation, and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization's contracts, or at organization's discretion.
Salary
- $100,000 to $128,000 per year
