Purpose

  • Lead and train department personnel in making decisions to effectively operate equipment and produce compliant material
  • The Manufacturing Tech is responsible for challenging and improving on the current machine operation
  • Provide Technical support for all production equipment within the department
  • Support operations in becoming efficient in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety. While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety

Duties

  • Follow all plantwide, departmentwide environmental policy and safety rules. Support plant security procedures
  • Operate the equipment with consideration of the environment and the safety of everyone in mind. Assure that all environmental controls and safety devices , Estops, lockouts, etc.) are in place and functional
  • Report all incidents and/or unsafe conditions which may include: first aid, illness, spills, improper/incomplete procedures and property damage
  • Support EHS culture by active participation in workplace organization, operator preventative maintenance, and reducing workplace hazards
  • Has a thorough understanding of all job classifications within the department
  • Answer production related questions for related equipment within the department through personal knowledge/experience or by consulting with an appropriate resource(s)
  • Communicate procedures to employees and followup to assure adherence
  • Train employees on specific procedures
  • Use Training within Industry Methods and processes to effectively train department employees
  • Ability to develop and improve our current procedures
  • Owner of the trouble shooting guides. Responsible for the accuracy and implementation of the troubleshooting guides to ensure effective response to exceptions
  • Ensure that all employees in area are following safety policies and procedures
  • Work with supervisors, plant engineers and operators to effectively operate all equipment to peak performance levels
  • Involvement and support of Daily Lean Management (DLM) as assigned to teams, roles in maintaining DLM
  • Changes and daily in changes made as well as updating machine/department boards as assigned
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Knowledge and Skills

Requirements:


  • Understanding of processes and equipment in the department
  • Ability to train effectively
  • Good computer skills; including Excel, Word, Power Point, preferred
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication (including presentations)
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memo
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 60 lbs
  • Frequent stair climbing
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, and bending
  • Frequent use of hands and wrists
  • Reasonable accommodations will be considered on a casebycase basis
Occasional travel may be required.
