The High School Math Teacher will be responsible for providing learning experiences and supervision of assigned students in a nurturing, supportive and positive classroom climate.

He/she will develop in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed Massachusetts State Standards in Mathematics, following the approved curricula and directives of the Academy.

Achieving academic excellence requires that the High School Math Teacher work collaboratively with the school administration, faculty, staff, and parents.


Responsibilities:


  • Plan and implement effective math lessons for students using student centered instructional strategies, a variety of materials, media, and community resources to support instructional programs.
  • Monitor the pacing of instruction and budget class time efficiently by providing clear directions, outlining expectations, and effectively bringing to closure instructional experiences.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
  • Differentiate learning experiences based on varying student needs.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, quizzes, assignments, and projects.
  • Establish high standards and expectations for all students for academic performance and responsibility for behavior.
  • Assist with the preparation, monitoring, and following of Individualized Education Plans for applicable students.
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in chemistry education and incorporate innovative teaching strategies into the classroom.
  • Demonstrate integrity, good moral character, and initiative.
  • Incorporate NDA's Mission and Hallmarks into everyday curriculum

  • Additional responsibilities as outlined in the NDA Faculty & Staff Handbook, as well as required in the annual employment agreement._

Pay:
$45, $50,000.00 per year
