General Summary:


Reporting to the SVP and Chief Procurement Officer, the Vice President of Operations will oversee the Qualcomm teams that manage direct procurement, logistics and planning, and strategic vendor management of all of Qualcomm's global operations.

This global role will be responsible for a broad range of related operations, procurement, and supply chain activities including all OSAT management, all components procurement/management, all test equipment procurement, and all logistics/warehousing management.

This is a highly collaborative role that supports the business achieve its key sales and operating goals by delivering and supporting new semiconductor sales to clients.

You'll Get To:

  • Serve as senior member of the panQualcomm Procurement team, as well as the broader Global Manufacturing Technology & Operations organization, to set strategy, influence direction, and facilitate execution of goals and objectives.
  • Define the longterm vision for the Operations/Supply Chain/Procurement organization and develop strategy for creating best practice processes and a supply chain/procurement infrastructure that scales with the high growth demand for premium semiconductors.
  • Work crossfunctionally with operations teams, business unit leaders, and engineering leadership to maximize supply flexibility & cost, while optimizing quality and production efficiency to enable continued business growth.
  • Develop, recommend and align organization around semiconductor manufacturing options and effectively manage supplier/partner network of outsourced semiconductor manufacturers.
  • Align the Procurement and Operations teams around the company's growth strategy while motivating, managing, and mentoring them to execute as efficiently and quickly as possible.
  • Drive process improvements, innovation and product related cost reductions by managing total landed material costs to optimize gross margin.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and operational workflow, establish performance metrics, and lead efforts to maximize efficiency, quality and capacity utilization of all outsourced semiconductor manufacturing partners.
  • Lead supplier selection and qualification, maintain strategic relationships, and monitor supplier performance including quality, cost, supply, and capacity to reduce market risks.
  • Act as thought leader and creative thinker within Procurement/Operations/Supply Chain to drive continuous transformation and improvement.


Qualcomm is seeking a highly accomplished leader with significant experience in operations and procurement, preferably at a large scale within the semiconductor industry.

Specifically, Qualcomm will be looking for the following knowledge, experience, and core leadership competencies:


  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business/economics, or a related field of study.
  • Fifteen (15) years of operational leadership experience with a strong focus and background in procurement and strategic sourcing.
  • Six (6) years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field of study.
  • Twenty (20) years of operational leadership experience with a strong focus and background in procurement and strategic sourcing.
  • Ten (10) years of leadership experience.
  • Deep expertise with complex and disparate operations and procurement models across a vast supply base.
  • Broad semiconductor industry expertise on OSAT, components, test equipment, and logistics suppliers.
  • Experience and capabilities required for setting the strategic direction and leading a centralized procurement organization at a scale of $1B+ in spend.
  • History of driving continuous & aggressive cost reductions and process improvements in the face of ongoing macro business/corporate challenges
  • Strong negotiation skills and leadership, strong financial and business acumen
  • Record of significant accomplishment forming effective partnerships with business units in support of strategic goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of the relevant supply base and key suppliers within the supplier ecosystem.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt effectively in a dynamic market environment.
  • Global mindset and cultural sensitivity; ability to engage with colleagues and suppliers across a global footprint.
