The Food Service Designer plays a key role in collaborating and managing multiple commercial food service projects.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Collaborates and manages multiple food service projects at once.
  • Leads design presentations and communicates design intent to clients.
  • Manages client relationships and direct interaction with external consultants and suppliers.
  • Develop itemized equipment plans and associated mechanicals
  • Understanding of Brand Standards
  • Scheduling of the work
  • Works alongside inhouse sales staff, project managers, and engineering staff throughout the project process.
  • Researches trends in the industry and projects the trajectory of same for applicability to the work.
  • Sets departmental standards, conducts peer reviews and provides quality control leadership.

SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or equivalent with 35 years' experience in a design environment, with an emphasis on Food Service
  • Mastery of 2D and 3D modeling software, AutoCad, Revit and MS Office.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Full understanding of food service equipment, including sizing, operational sequencing, placement, etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of consumer travel and experience
  • General understanding of the costs of Food Service environments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • Extended periods of time spent sitting or standing during design development and project management tasks.
  • Manual dexterity required for creating 3D renderings and physical mood/finish boards.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of materials for art installations or project presentations.
  • Ability to navigate and operate design software programs such as Sketchup, VRay, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Collaborative work environment, requiring interaction with colleagues and clients throughout the project process
