Basic Function:

Under close supervision, the Project Assistant I performs a wide variety of clerical, administrative, and/or casework duties to support program operations.

The Project Assistant I may receive on-the-job training in the basic skills required for an entry level position and/or may have acquired skills at a minimum level of proficiency.

Performs routine, or repetitive support functions of the program.


Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma; any education, training and/or experience that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.

Must have willingness to learn and ability to understand and follow oral and written directions. Ability to use copy, scanners, postal meters, folding and binding machines in a safe and efficient manner.

Ability to provide prompt, efficient, and responsive service; and to communicate and treat all individuals with dignity and respect, responding in a cooperative, solution-oriented manner.

Must be able to maintain professional relationships and avoid conflicts of interest. Ability to understand and respect diversity in the workplace/community, showing consideration by communicating tactfully and sensitively at all times.

Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Operates office equipment including copiers, postal meters, scanners and calculators.
  • Maintains digital filing system according to established policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for mail processing, which includes picking up, sorting, prioritizing, and routing incoming mail to the appropriate person, preparing large volumes of outgoing mail and dropping off at the post office.
  • Assists in the research of return mail.
  • Other clerical tasks as needed.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Participate in one-site and off-site learning opportunities such as workshops, conferences, staff meetings and trainings.

Essential Skills:
Excellent organizational and clerical skills; proficiency in data entry, 10 key operations, and word-processing.

Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills; ability to schedule, organize and maintain an orderly environment and to handle detailed work accurately.

Bilingual - Spanish.


Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday

  • Friday 8:30am5:00pm

Salary:
$23.36 per hour; Non-Exempt
