Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Eight years of experience including two years of supervisory experience or one year of managerial experience.
- Associate's degree and seven years of experience
- Associate's degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and six years of experience
- Bachelor's degree and six years of experience
- Bachelor's degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and five years of experience
- Master's degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience
- Doctorate in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience
Duties Description
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversees and manages the modernization and migration of legacy GIS platforms utilizing NYS CISO policies and standards under the guidance of CRRP (Cyber Risk Remediation Program).?
- Oversees and manages the development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse in collaboration with NYS ITS CTO Database staff and Bureau Data Services staff.?
- Leads and manages GIS projects and system integrations in collaboration with Geospatial Services and NYS Agencies.??
- Collaborates with NYS CTO Operations, Network, Architecture, and Applications teams, on GISrelated demands and projects.?
- Oversees and manages technical and operational support for GIS throughout Geospatial Services.??
- Develops governance strategies derived from industry standards and best practices for the hosting of data, web services, and frontend technologies.?
- Designs and maintains governance for industrystandard tools such as Python, FME, and the full stack of Esri ArcGIS Technology including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.?
- Oversees the development of automated processes to streamline workflows or system integrations for ETL.?
- Oversees the maintenance and health of GIS systems for Geospatial Services.??
- Identifies and presents technical efficiencies and technical growth opportunities for Geospatial Services.?
- Supports the Geospatial strategy and vision of the NYS GIO with technical solutions and systems.?
- Works, collaborates, informs, and consults current Geospatial Services leadership on GIS modernization efforts.?
- Oversees documentation of system and procedures, ensuring Enterprise Services staff are trained and knowledgeable in their roles to support the system.?
- Collaborates with Bureau management to ensure budgets are developed and tracked.?
- Collaborates with Bureau management and managers of other Bureau sections to develop priorities and allocate staff resources effectively.?
- Manages or oversees, other tasks, duties, and innovations that arise as the Geospatial Enterprise Services Platform expands and the need for support grows.?
- Supervises Geospatial Services Enterprise operational staff, performing the full range of supervisory responsibilities.?
