    Information Management & Collections Division

    The Montana Department of Revenue oversees nearly 40 state taxes, property assessments, alcohol regulations, and unclaimed assets for the State of Montana.

    The Information Management and Collections Division supports Montana residents and businesses by promptly and accurately handling tax paperwork, refunds, and payments, implementing enhanced technology to improve user satisfaction, boosting electronic submissions, addressing overdue debts, and recovering debts owed to other state agencies.

    DUTIES
    Collection Services Representative Job Overview:
    This role is situated in the Collection Services Bureau of the Department of Revenue. As a Collection Services Representative, you will assist Montana residents in settling their outstanding debts to the State.

    You will reach out to residents through phone calls, mail, emails, and other means to inform them of their balances and collaborate with them to secure full payment or establish payment arrangements.

    This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service to our Montana residents. You will collaborate with a diverse team in a cooperative work environment.

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Reaching out to Montana residents via phone, mail, email, or other necessary methods.
    • Accepting payments over the phone.
    • Negotiating reasonable payment plans with residents following department guidelines.
    • Conducting thorough research to locate contact details such as phone numbers and addresses.
    • Identifying individuals responsible for trust tax debts.
    • Safeguarding confidential resident records in our integrated tax system.
