Description
The Department of State Police is seeking a Program Coordinator I for our Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (C.A.R.S.).- The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Processing and preparing responses to outside requests for information related to crash investigations by C.A.R.S., which include court requests, subpoenas, agency request, and FOIA and Massachusetts Public Record requests.
- Ensuring responses are provided in a timely fashion, adhere to state and federal statutes, and are recorded according to departmental protocol.
- Communicating with and providing good customer service to the public or other records requestors.
- Collaborating with the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) divisions to identify, review, and assemble responsive records.
- Assisting with the identification and redaction of confidential, privileged, private, or exempt documents or parts thereof.
- Prepare draft response letters to requestors.
- Maintain information in a systematic way and perform measures to substantiate compliance with the Public Records Law, MSP standards, and records retention requirements.
- Monitoring status of outstanding public or other records requests.
- Prepare all statistical data for weekly/monthly reports to Division and Unit Commanders.
- Develop and maintain new forms, templates, and programs for C.A.R.S.
- Maintain all records for C.A.R.S.
- Answer all direct inquiries to the Unit, including phone calls and traditional mail.
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicants must have at least (A) two years of fulltime, or equivalent parttime, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
- Substitutions:
- I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.
- II. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
- Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
