Job Summary


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Correlate, integrate and evaluate varying types of information from investigative activities for the purpose of generating investigative leads. 10%
  • Prepare written reports to document investigative activities and summarize findings. 5%
  • Use computerized analytical tools to create charts, timelines, and link diagrams for the purpose of demonstrating analytical findings, including target relationships, time sequence of events, and criminal hierarchies. 25%
  • Participate in investigative efforts through meetings with law enforcement officers to identify analytical services needed to support criminal investigations and to report analytical findings. 10%
  • Assist law enforcement officers in the identification of collected notes, files, records, and other items to be analyzed and/or used for intelligence purposes. 5%
  • Develop curriculum and provide training to federal, state, and local law enforcement officers and analysts in analytical services, methods, and techniques. 2%
  • Assist in the development of the threat assessment, annual report, and other intelligence related program requirements. 3%
  • Lead and/or assist with special projects and investigative efforts within the North Central HIDTA. 5%
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance job skills and expand overall knowledge. 3%
  • Attending related training and conferences to expand job skills and assist in the development of professional contacts. 2%
  • Assist in the Deconfliction Program through documentation and receiving operations from law enforcement officers for input. 5%
Minimum Qualifications

  • Fouryear college degree in criminal justice or related field from an accredited organization
  • Evidence of strong communications skills, both written and oral
  • Evidence of coursework, training, or experience with intelligence gathering and/or creating analytical products
  • Background free of any felony criminal convictions
  • Must be able to pass a federal security clearance
  • Proficient computer skills (such as: Microsoft Office-Outlook, Word, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications

  • College coursework related to crime analysis and/or criminal justice related intelligence gathering and analysis
  • Working knowledge of communications analysis software such as PenLink products
  • Experience using other analytical software or databases including I2, Enforcer, the Internet/OSINT, plotting and mapping programs
  • Experience in criminal investigative techniques
  • Experience working with or in a law enforcement capacity
  • One or more years of intelligence gathering, analyzing, reporting, and dissemination experience
Target Salary Range The starting salary is $46,800 to a maximum $76,377, dependent upon qualifications and experience. Benefits and Total Rewards
