Job Summary


Teachers at Bishop O'Dowd High School are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in alignment with Bishop O'Dowd High School's Integral Student Outcomes.

The individual in this position will collaborate most closely with their respective department team, ensuring consistency across grade levels and content areas.


Job requirements may include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver expected outcomes in accordance with the school mission and charism
  • Maintain restorative and collaborative dialogue with colleagues, students, parents, and the greater Bishop O'Dowd community
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Articulate and skillfully promote equity and justice work
  • Establish a culture that is built on strong relationships and allows for risktaking
  • Have comfort and skill in personal inquiry and reflection of antiracist practices and racial consciousness
  • Provide differentiated access and engagement opportunities to meet our diverse community
  • Be coachable and open to constructive feedback from peers, supervisors, and the greater school community
  • Initiate, fully participate in, and foster strong collegial relationships across diverse backgrounds
  • Have a growth mindset, positive attitude, flexibility, and passion for working in a high school setting

Required Qualifications

  • A demonstrated understanding of and passion for middle and high school education and adolescent development.
  • A nuanced understanding of DEI from a personal and/or professional perspective
  • Bachelor's degree and/or related education or experience applicable to the responsibilities of the position
