- Creating images and write-ups for events to be posted on social media and event calendars
- Ensure proper use of STEM equipment and technology
- Develop educational programs for a variety of technology for all ages and skill levels
- Provide training and instruction for staff and patrons in the use of the STEM resources
- Create effective procedures for using STEM technology to ensure safe and equitable use by patrons
- Ensure proper use of STEM equipment and technology as it is acquired for public use
- Assist with promotion and outreach for the STEM events and activities
- A professional, friendly, helpful, positive attitude with the public and staff members
- Willingness to learn new and innovative technologies
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Assists with large-scale youth events including, but not limited to, End of Summer Reading Party, Annual Escape Room, and Christmas in Collegedale
- Serves as staff supervisor on their scheduled weekends and evenings
- Know and understand the American Library Association's Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library. In addition to these freedoms, support client discretion of materials available at your local library.
- Serves at the circulation desk checking items out, creating library card accounts, and answering questions as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience with Google Sheets, Forms, Docs, Drive and Sites
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook,
- Cameo Maker: Card Cutting, Vinyl, Print and Cut Stickers
- Computer Aided Design (CAD): Fusion360 and TinkerCAD
- 3D Printing: designing, slicing, printing and maintenance on Luzbot
- VR hardware and software using VR headset Bobovr M2
- Minecraft software
- Scratch coding for Lego Robotics
- An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training, and/or work experience required
- H.S. Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Two years of experience with STEM technology, technology instruction, or other creative-based work preferred, but not required.
- Strong writing, presentation, and public speaking skills
