If you are looking for a position where you can apply your skills and build a thriving and rewarding career – please apply with usThe Senior Accountant is an integral part of the Finance & Accounting team, dedicated to supporting the Foundation's mission, culture, and best interests. The Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of the Foundation's accounting activities, including investments accounting and administration, accounts payable, financial statements, and assisting in audit and tax preparation. This position ensures accuracy and efficiency in all accounting tasks and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Process monthly investment journal entries and verify all investment cash activities are properly executed and recorded.
    • Review and reconcile investment manager reports/statements data to custodian reports.
    • Prepare investment roll forward schedules.
    • Create new vendors using W-9 forms and maintain vendor information. o Process vendor invoices ensuring accurate coding and proper approval. o Monitor data flow between the accounts payable system and the accounting system.
    • Review employee reimbursements and credit card expense reports in the expense management system.
    • Review and process weekly grant payment requests.
    • Prepare quarterly functional expense allocations and record conditional grant journal entries.
    • Record daily cash activity journal entries. o Record monthly journal entries for other asset and liability accounts and eliminating journal entries.
    • Maintain fixed assets and non-capitalized assets, record additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation expenses.
    • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts and other asset/liability accounts.
    • Analyze and report on budget variances.
    • Prepare entity and consolidate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards including supporting schedules.
    • Provide supporting documentation and schedules for annual audit, tax return, and Form 571L Property Business Tax filings.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
    • Investment accounting and investment roll forward experience preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Excel (formulas, v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
    • Experience with Sage Intacct and systems preferred.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and in teams.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, external consultants, and vendors.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
