- Graduation from an accredited physician assistant training program and certification by NCCPA or equivalent training as a Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctor, or Doctor of Osteopathy; eligibility for Tennessee licensure; possession of a master's degree in physician assistant studies or a doctoral degree in a field related to medical science or equivalent teaching experience in classroom and clinical settings, preferably in an institution of higher learning; program administrative or leadership experience; excellent oral, written, organizational, and computer skills.

The Physician Assistant Program Faculty position will involve teaching, evaluation, advisement, and mentoring of physician assistant students in classroom, clinical, and other settings.
The faculty member will participate in the admissions and selection process, in program organization, evaluation, planning, administration, and management and will assist in continuous review and analysis of the program's effectiveness and preparation for program assessment by ARC-PA, LMU, SACSCOC, and others.

attend SMS, PA program, and LMU faculty meetings;

develop course schedules, syllabi, and student evaluation mechanisms;

Serve as Course Director for Didactic Phase courses as assigned;

Complete End-of-Course reports for assigned courses and present conclusions based on data analysis and recommendations for action(s)/modification(s) to the Curriculum Committee;

Assist in revising the Student Handbook and the Student Catalog as assigned;
Job Duty
Assist in recruiting, developing, evaluating, and maintaining clinical sites and clinical preceptors for Clinical Phase Supervised Clinical Practice Experiences (SCPEs), as needed;
Job Duty
provide PA student instruction, clinical supervision, evaluation, and academic advisement, as assigned;
Job Duty
assure the availability of remedial instruction, as needed and assigned;
Job Duty
participate in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of PA program curriculum;
Job Duty
assist in the administration and evaluation of the PA program;
Job Duty
assist in the search process for selecting PA program faculty;
Job Duty
establish a personal program of scholarly activity;
Job Duty
write, edit, review, and approve learning objectives and test items;
Job Duty
monitor student progress; serve as primary academic advisor for didactic year students;
Job Duty
perform service activities that advance the PA program, SMS, and the PA profession, including assistance in the recruitment, orientation, and retention of PA students; as assigned;
Job Duty
exhibit/recruit at various meetings as needed;
Job Duty
fulfill faculty responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual;
Job Duty
complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites; and

perform other duties as assigned.
