The IT Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management for an assigned portfolio through the entire software development lifecycle, including, but not limited to: chartering, scoping, requirements gathering, document approval tracking and management, project plan creation, status reporting, project resource allocation, project costs and financial analysis, and vendor management.

Project success criteria include remaining in constant communication with the project's stakeholders while building cross-functional relationships across the various business units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates cohesive project plans with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, and major milestones, and manages the approved plans and schedules, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality parameters.
  • Responsible for all aspects of project management through the entire project lifecycle, including, but not limited to: chartering, scoping, requirements gathering, document approval tracking and management, status reporting, risk management, issue resolution, project resource allocation, benefits validation, and meeting summations.
  • Continually monitors project costs and performs financial analysis using burndown charts.
  • Responsible for setting and maintaining vendor expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Helps to develop and document strategic contingency plans as part of every project.
  • Responsible for holding retrospective meetings to reflect on what went well, what could be improved, and how the team can enhance its performance in the next iteration.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the SDLC program and adherence from the team.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors, and summarizes progress of projects.
  • Prepares reports for upper management regarding project status.
  • Reviews Statements of Work (SOWs), invoices, timesheets, and change orders as needed.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Leads and directs the work of other project team members.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Assists in the development of corporate project/program management methodologies.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications - Education and Experience
Required

  • 46 years of technology and businessoriented project management experience.
  • Five years of experience with infrastructure, customized software development, and/or 3rd party software installation/configuration; preferably in the retail industry.
  • Experience entering and maintaining project plans in Workfront or other project management programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Services, Business or related field preferred.
  • Project management certification preferred.
  • Familiarity or certification with Agile methodology preferred

  • Demonstrated crossfunctional experience in the use of project development life cycles or other structured project management methodologies in customerfacing situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing programs or complex projects involving multiple subprojects.
  • Experience with POS implementations preferred.
  • Ability to influence and persuade others.
  • Ability to hold team members accountable, and keep project teams engaged and on task.
  • Shows initiative, anticipates and prepares for upcoming situations, takes advantage of opportunities, acts quickly and decisively, and addresses issues before they become problems.
  • Experience with the development and reporting of project estimates, costs, and project financial analysis
