Maintenance Technician I

Overview of Position:


As a Maintenance Technician I at MMS, you'll perform mechanical, electrical, and systems troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on equipment in accordance with manufacturer's manuals, diagrams, sketches, etc.

This position should have general knowledge in in heat treat.

This is an mid-level position designed for those who wish to continue developing their skills and continue their career journey in the facilities maintenance field.

This position will also be heavily involved with our heat treat. Previous experience is helpful but not required.

, Full-Time, 2nd Shift Available, Monday-Friday**

Requirements:


Responsibilities:

Under supervision performs mid-level break-fix & preventative maintenance.

This includes but is not limited to observing devices in operation to location root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools.

You may also be asked to:


  • Support and back up other team members as directed by leadership
  • Update records in CMMS
  • Assure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards
  • Provide inputs in CI activitiesprocesses, results, and cost savings
  • Perform carpentry and plumbing tasks
  • Setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to
:

CNC, lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

  • Perform welding tasks.

Experience:

At least 2 years' experience in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities

Education:

High school diploma (or equivalent), Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar program is not required but would be strongly encouraged

Other requirements:

Must have a valid state driver's license, vehicle insurance and dependable vehicle. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of U.S.


Job Specific Skills:


  • Proven experience as a leader of an industrial maintenance team or a similar role. 3 years or more of industrial maintenance in heat treat operations as a supervisor is a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge of heat treat, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Understand OSHA safety requirements for Industrial Maintenance Operations with a focus on heat treat operations.
  • Strict adherence to safety regulations and policies.
  • Understanding of budgeting and performance management.
  • Excellent planning, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

The duties of this position will be performed primarily in a factory environment.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:


  • Travel in and around a factory, office facilities and around the job site outofdoors
  • Safely climb and/or maneuver over, under and around equipment
  • Use close and color vision
  • Operate tools and equipment as required
  • Lift or move 50+ pounds occasionally
