    Description

    Accounting Manager

    CFS is working with a local, well-known nonprofit seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee key accounting functions and supervise a team. You will ensure the accuracy of their financial records, collaborate with various departments, and play a key role in their month-end and year-end closing processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks and supervise the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
    • Oversee all aspects of the accounting cycle, ensuring adherence to GAAP.
    • Supervise and guide accountants across various accounting processes, including accounts payable, receivable, revenue recognition, and more.
    • Lead the monthly financial close process, reviewing entries, reports, and closing the accounting system.
    • Administer the accounting software and ensure proper coding for accurate reporting.
    • Collaborate with the Data Manager and FP&A Budget Manager on financial analysis and reporting.
    • Manage credit card usage and maintain internal controls for all financial transactions.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for the annual audit and ensure timely and accurate communication with auditors.
    • Continuously improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the accounting team.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, risk mitigation, and relevant compliance regulations.
    • 5+ years of experience in advanced accounting functions and staff supervision.
    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills.
    • Nonprofit accounting experience.
    Salary: $83,000 - $95,000
