MAHN works to contribute to the food safety net resilience by:

  • Establishing and building a network of 60 plus historically siloed food pantries and free meal providers
  • Developing a highly valued, county wide Food Resource Program
  • Coordinating food and funding resources too large for individual food pantries to access

Job Summary:


The Food Resource Program Representative and Driver plays a critical role in the operations of MontCo Anti-Hunger Network by serving as a key link between the organization and its partners, donors, and the community.

This dynamic position involves a combination of relationship-building, driving responsibilities, and reporting, all of which contribute to the MAHN's mission of alleviating hunger within the community.

The role requires effective communication, organization, and a commitment to ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of food resources.


Duties:


Food Pickup and Delivery:

Safely operate delivery vehicles including cargo van and box truck to collect surplus food from various donor locations such as restaurants, grocery stores, and food processing facilities.

Ensure that all collected food items are properly secured and maintained during transportation. Deliver foods to designated recipient organizations/pantries, including food pantries, shelters, community centers, and free meal providers.

Food Safety and Quality:
Adhere to food safety guidelines to maintain the freshness and quality of food.

Route Planning and Time Management:
Efficiently plan delivery routes to ensure timely pickups and deliveries while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

Vehicle/ Equipment Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections of the delivery vehicle, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall operational condition.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of food pickups, deliveries, and any necessary documentation required by donor and recipient organizations.

Communication and Collaboration:
Establish positive relationships with donors and recipient organizations, displaying professionalism, courtesy, and respect. Provide technical support for food drives and inter-pantry food sharing.


Pay:
$ $22.00 per hour


Expected hours:
No more than 40 per week
