The Leibniz Institute for Biodiversity Analysis (LIB) is one of the large, globally connected research museums of the Leibniz Association.

In addition to excellent research on biological diversity and its changes, we are driving the further development of our extensive scientific collections with an international team and state-of-the-art technology.

With our exhibition, education, and communication work at our exhibition locations Museum Koenig Bonn and Museum of Nature Hamburg, we aim to inspire people about nature and contribute our research topics to current socio-political discussions on species loss, climate change, and the protection of ecosystems.

The construction of an integrated natural history museum is planned for the Hamburg location; at the Bonn location, the research infrastructure is currently being significantly expanded.
