Description

The Digital Spaces Department manages physical and virtual classrooms, specialized learning environments, live event venues, digital signage, and other learning environments (e.g., conference spaces, dormitories, dining halls, etc.).

This team makes sure all spaces on campus are suitably equipped with functional and innovative technology that meets the needs of the educational experience and enables the world-class teaching and learning for which UCLA is internationally recognized.

Members of this department also manage the installation and long-term management of display technology across the university.

The
Supervisor, AV Support Services (AV/IT) will oversee the Tier 1 and frontline support teams for the customer needs in the general use classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, and ITS-owned spaces.

The Supervisor, AV Support Services (AV/IT) will assist the Director, Digital Spaces Services in supporting end user solutions across the UCLA enterprise to ensure a best-in-class user experience.

The Supervisor, AV Support Services (AV/IT) will ensure SLAs and customer satisfaction metrics meet best-in-class requirements of the Digital Spaces department.

The Supervisor, AV Support Services (AV/IT) will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling IT projects and programs in service of the university's academic mission.

This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students.

This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.
Salary & Compensation

  • UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

  • 2 years experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fastpaced, serviceoriented environment. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience presenting complex technical information to audiences of technical and non
- technical stakeholders. (required)

  • Significant experience working in a projectbased environment using leading project management practices. (required)
  • Extensive experience solving technical and nontechnical problems; able to delegate solutioning when appropriate to the proper resources. (required)
  • Experience operating as a point of escalation. (required)
  • 5+ years experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fastpaced, serviceoriented environment. (preferred)
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of audiovisual support principles, theories, and concepts. (required)
  • Ability to anticipate and assess campus needs for information technology products and support services to meet those needs. (required)
  • Working knowledge of technologyrelated initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives. (required)
  • Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies. (required)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks. (required)
  • Demonstrated competency in leading a team of support technicians and student staff to ensure bestinclass service aligned with ITSM principles. (required)
  • Broad knowledge of technologyrelated initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives. (required)
  • Knowledge of most aspects of the latest audiovisual technologies. (required)
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate work assignments to mediumsized teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated leadership / management skills, including abilities in persuasion, negotiation, change management, and mentorship. (required)
  • Advanced project management skills with demonstrated experience delegating responsibility, tracking project progress, supervising others, and advising teams on competing priorities. (required)
  • Able to lead data gathering efforts seeking information from multiple and diverse sources. (required)
