Cad Designer - Souderton, United States - Devault Refrigeration

Description

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, preferred
• Working knowledge of piping systems relative to industrial refrigeration or mechanical systems
• Minimum 3 years experience in CAD designing of mechanical systems, preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD MEP or similar; BIM is a plus
• Knowledge of industrial refrigeration piping systems and equipment associated with refrigeration systems is a plus
• Basic computer proficiency, MS Word, Outlook, Excel
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative setting to meet project deadlines
• Excellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
• Focused on safety and quality
• Valid Driver's license and insurable driving record, required
• Must pass substance screenings and background screenings
• Must abide by employee manual and all safety policies

• Monday
• Friday; start time no later than 7 am

• Develop preliminary design documents for bidding projects.
• Develop construction set drawings under the supervision of design engineers and collaborating with field employees.
• Develop system schematic drawings and P&ID's (process and instrumentation drawings) to comply with OSHA's process safety information requirements.
• Utilize spatial abilities and design skills to develop the most efficient installation and reduce material costs.
• Contact vendors to assist the design team.
• Attend project meetings as required by sales engineers, design engineers or project managers.
• Complete onsite surveys and confirm conditions.
• Manage time efficiently while working on multiple projects at a given time.
• Develop Asbuilt drawings at the completion of projects.
• Develop a working knowledge or the applicable building and construction codes as they relate to layout and installation to ensure compliance.
• Develop assembly/fabrication and shop drawings for fabrication including isometric and 3D drawings.
• Develop and assemble detail pages.
• Responsible for assembling Operation and Maintenance manuals for completed projects, develop as built drawings.
• Review and understand all project documents and the scope of work.
• Develop a working knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems to assist the project team in the design process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
