- Must be a High School graduate or equivalent and at least two years working experience in a field related to Park District maintenance.
- Possess the basic knowledge and experience of building trade maintenance.
- Ability to operate and maintain distinct types of equipment.
- Work weekends and holidays as assigned.
- Ability to cooperate with and interpret Park District philosophies in relation to governmental, public, and private groups and agencies and to the public.
- Strong knowledge of pertinent safety precautions
- Ability to maintain a positive and effective working relationships with other supervisors coworkers.
- Ability to collaborate harmoniously with fellow employees, patrons, community groups and other units of local government.

- Removal of snow from ice rinks, Park District walks and drives.

- Assist staff in the performance of their duties.
- Assist staff with completion of work orders and special events.
- Attend meetings and participate in house committees and local community agencies, associations, and organizations.

- Must be in condition adequate to conduct on site inspection of park district facilities and operations.

- May frequently be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
