The Foster and Kinship Programs Supervisor supervises the Kinship Support Services and CORE programs. The Kinship Support Services program provides support to kinship families through the foster care and/or adoption process.

The support shall include but not be limited to home assessments, ongoing family support before and after placement, monitoring of home environment, initial and ongoing training, retention efforts, initial and renewal licensing, and initial certification and extensions.


The Kinship Support Supervisor is responsible for providing support and guidance to kinship team, while ensuring all contract requirements and Aviva/EBF policies and procedures are being met.

The Foster and Kinship Program Supervisor also oversees the Aviva CORE program. This program provides individualized support and training to youth and families involved with the foster care system.


Essential Duties & Functions (With or Without Accommodation):


  • Provide supervision, support and guidance to Kinship Support specialist and Foster Care Support Specialist.
  • Ensure timelines per contract are being met.
  • Ensure all requirement per the DCS Kinship Support Services contract are being met.
  • Participate in agency and collaboration meetings on behalf of Aviva Children's Services.
  • Provide inhome and/or remote training to families based on the needs identified in the home.
  • Provide emergency resources to child and family to meet emergency needs.
  • Report immediate concerns or unusual situations to appropriate agencies, EBF Quality department and Executive Director.
  • Any other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills (with or without accommodation):


  • Strong Clinical knowledge.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn educational, foster care, DCS and BH systems.
  • Understanding of family systems and child and adolescent development and behavior.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to meet training and agency compliance requirements for the position

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's level degree with two (2) years of related work experience or any combination of experience, training, and education, equivalent to a minimum of three (3) years' fulltime employment in child welfare experience, providing services to children and families, and experience working with kinship families.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Able to obtain an AZ Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and the willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment (personal vehicle in safe/operable condition for work related appointments).
  • Must meet minimum requirements of agency insurance carrier and provide a 39month driving record from DMV is required at time of hire. Provide and maintain an Arizona Driver's License and proof of auto insurance at all times.
  • Pass a Central Registry Background Check prior to delivering services to DCS clients, which is to be reviewed and updated annually.
  • Obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Have a clear/negative preemployment drug test result, as well as a clear/negative random drug test biennially from the date of hire.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

- utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for any amount of time necessary to provide a physical barrier to protect the employee and others.
- be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- remain in a stationary position.
- operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
- stoop, squat, reach, stretch, ascend, and descend stairs.
- typing and writing extended periods of time.
- be able to work in an extremely stressful environment where there are considerable mental and emotional demands. The types of situations that may be encountered, particularly when children and adults are involved, cause emotional stress.
