    Description

    Lead Software Engineer at 84.51°

    Join the team at 84.51°, a retail data science, insights, and media company that collaborates with The Kroger Co., consumer packaged goods companies, agencies, publishers, and affiliates to enhance shopper experiences along the path to purchase.

    As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing software solutions for both internal and external clients, utilizing cutting-edge technologies like Python, SQL, Azure Cloud Services, and Snowflake.

    Responsibilities

    • Take ownership of project stories and guide them through the complete 84.51° SDLC
    • Design and implement Python & SQL data pipeline solutions
    • Conduct unit and integration testing
    • Establish quality checks for data processing
    • Ensure proper alerting and monitoring of automated solutions
    • Provide guidance to junior team members
    • Engage in retrospective reviews
    • Contribute to project estimations and enhancements
    • Offer fresh perspectives on problem-solving
    • Show initiative in self-improvement and process enhancement

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Business Analytics or related field (Master's degree preferred)
    • Proficiency in Python and SQL with 5+ years of experience
    • Experience with Agile Principles (Scrum)
    • Familiarity with distributed data processing and automated testing
    • Skilled in using GitHub and Python frameworks
    • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies & Services and CI/CD practices
    • Expertise in performance tuning and debugging enterprise applications
    • Understanding of Object Oriented and SOLID principles
    • Experience with RESTful APIs

    Preferred Skills

    • Python & SQL Development
    • Distributed Data Processing and CI/CD practices
    • Data pipeline orchestration and observability
    • Cloud infrastructure development (Azure Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks)
    • API development and data quality assurance

    Important: Applicants must have authorization to work for ANY U.S. employer.

    This is a Hybrid role requiring on-site presence on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. 84.51° has offices in Cincinnati, Chicago, Deerfield, New York, and Portland.
